Welcome to the Studio Journal — a place for stories, ideas and practical guides from The Quarterworkshop in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

We’ll be sharing more of what happens in and around the studio: from making your own wedding rings and choosing materials, to learning traditional jewellery-making techniques, designing something personal, and discovering what goes into each of our workshops.

There’ll also be a look behind the scenes at studio life, our tools and processes, the people who teach here, and the details that make every workshop a little different.

At the heart of The Quarterworkshop is the belief that jewellery means more when there’s a story behind it. Whether you’re creating wedding rings together, making your first piece of silver jewellery, celebrating with friends or simply learning a new skill, the experience of making is just as important as the finished piece.

Over the coming months, the Studio Journal will become a collection of useful guides and stories for anyone curious about jewellery making, craftsmanship and creating something that feels genuinely personal.
